At Bromont farm, we have been involved in breeding for the past 20 years.  Recently, we have sold all of our broodmares and young stock, and we have decided to put our emphasis on training and boarding.

Janet's Show Horses

Janet has two horses that she is training for herself.  Caprice is a black 16.2 1/2h, 1997 Hanoverian mare who was imported from Germany in 2001 and is by Cashman out of a mare by Monaco.  She is an excellent mare who has superb rideability and a great willingness to work.  She is currently training for 4th level and Prix St. George.  Caprice showed National at Third level for the 2006 show season and came away with many second place ribbons in a highly competitive open division with some very nice scores.  In 2007, Caprice showed a limited but successful season at 4th level with good scores and a first place ribbon at the National show at Palgrave.

Rosalie was born is 2001 and is Janet's newest horse from Germany.  Rosalie is by the very popular stallion Rotspon out of a mare by Weltruhm who is by Weltmeyer.  Rosalie is a very special dressage horse who has first class basic gaits.  She has natural rideability and is very intelligent.  She is quite playful and bratty in nature, always wanting attention.  Rosalie is a 16h compact mare who is a lot of fun to work with.  Rosalie is trained to first level and schooling second level.  Rosalie had a severe injury to her right hind leg last February 2008, basically degloving her lower limb to the cannon bone and severing an extensor tendon. She required 2 1/2 hours of surgery to put it all back together.  Almost a year later, her wound has finally closed after 10 months of wrapping and veterinary care.  She is now ready to start full training after months of very light long lining, longing and very light walk trot under saddle.  It's nice to have my horse back again!

Lesson Horses

Currently, we have two teaching horses. Our teaching horses are part boarded out to students who are interested in training and showing.  That way, they have a consistent rider to keep them well trained and advance their skills through consistent riding and regular lessons.  A few other days a week, their job is to teach outside students.

Eve is a 17 year old dark bay Trakehner mare.  She is a very trustworthy mare who does her job.  She is not spooky, and is a willing partner who is nicely forward.  She was part-boarded by Anneliese, who had been riding at Bromont for 4 years before attending University.  Anneliese showed Eve as first level in 2003 at the trillium level, which was their dressage debut for the both of them!  They both did very well and came away with several well deserved ribbons. Eve is currently part boarded by Connie and they are showing first level this year at Caledon Cadora.

O'Malley is 17 years old and our newest school horse.  He showed first level in 2006 with his part-boarder Barb.  They did very well for their fist season together, including competing at the 2006 Trillium dressage championships.  Barb and O'Malley are competing at second level in 2007 and are doing well.  O'Malley is available only for experienced riders who ride at second level and above.

Our newest addition to our family is Summer, our very small pony that we purchased for Rosalie to be turned out with after her long time pasture mate passed away.  Rosalie and Summer are now fast friends.
